The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) is currently seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst 1 - in the Office of Information Security.
The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) currently manages the delivery of IT infrastructure services to 89 Executive Branch agencies and managed network services to more than 1,200 state and local government entities. IT infrastructure services encompass mainframes, servers, service desk, end user computing, disaster recovery and security. Managed network services include the state's wide and local area networks, voice, cable and wiring, and conferencing services.

JOB SUMMARY:
Cybersecurity Analyst 1 is established to participate in information security related projects and ensuring people, processes, and technology aligns with the desired security posture of the organization. The Cybersecurity Analyst 1 is trained and experienced in meeting security needs of the agency and its employees in multiple locations.
This position reports directly to the Section Director of Incident Response & Cyber Intelligence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Answers Requests for Information (RFIs) and provides expertise to course of action development.
· Develops effective and actionable operational strategies for State leadership and executive decision makers by performing vulnerability cyber threat analysis from information and intelligence derived from various sources to include Federal and State agencies, law enforcement, fusion centers and open-source intelligence.
· Leads the coordination, validation, and management of all-source intelligence collection requirements, plans, and/or activities
· Identifies and communicates intelligence collection shortfalls
· Conducts in-depth research and analysis on current threats and network vulnerabilities
· Evaluates threat decision-making processes and identifies tactics and methodologies
· Monitor, report, and respond on validated threat activities
· Monitor open-source websites for hostile content toward organizational or partner interests
· Produces timely, fused all-source intelligence cyber operations intelligence and/or indications and warnings intelligence products.
· Provides information and assessments for operations planning and assessing the effects of cyber posture on organizational operations
· Perform other duties as assigned
AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
· BS/BA degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Information Security or related field or equivalent three (3) years of experience and demonstrated success in information security and intelligence gathering OR Seven (7) years of experience of demonstrated success in information security and intelligence gathering
· Currently holds an entry level cyber certification per state guidelines or achieves within 12 months of start date: (Security+, GSEC*, CEH) *any GIAC entry level certification accepted
· Must hold or be able to qualify for a US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) secret clearance
· Must be flexible: available after core business hours and travel to/from incidents throughout the State of Georgia
· Comfortable working in restricted environment with limited connectivity
Preferred Qualifications:
(Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience):
· Knowledge of various cybersecurity best practices, frameworks, and regulations such as: NIST Special Publications documents (SP 800-30, 800-37, 800-50, 800-53A, 800-53, 800-60, 800-61, and 800-64), NIST FIPS (FIPS-199, 200, 140-2), IT Security frameworks - (NIST Special Pubs 800 Series, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27000 Series), CIS CSC, and regulations (FISMA, HIPAA, CJIS, SSA, PCI-DSS).
· Knowledge and experience with the intelligence process
· Experience handling sensitive or confidential information
· Knowledge of various intelligence and forensic tools utilized for cyber data collection, analysis, and remediation.
· Working knowledge of the cyber incident handling process and experience in its execution.
· Experience in network traffic analysis and threat indicator identification
· Strong, oral and written communication skills with ability to understand technology sufficiently to clearly communicate the complexity in simple terms for key stakeholders.
COMPENSATION/WORKER TYPE/ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Hiring Salary: *$65,100.00 - $83,500.00
Worker Type: Hybrid - State of Georgia Remote Work Option
*Current Georgia state government employees will be subject to SPB rule provisions.
