This Cyber Security Engineer role at Langley AFB involves critical tasks to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the OA DCGS weapon system. Below is a more detailed breakdown of the key responsibilities and skills required
Responsibilities:
The ability to clearly document incidents, generate reports, and communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Develop and enforce security measures to protect the OA DCGS weapon system, ensuring it remains secure and operational.
Continuously observe the security posture of the system, identifying potential threats or vulnerabilities through proactive monitoring.
Analyze information from internal and external sources to detect cyber threats. Apply this intelligence to defend the enterprise network and report potential risks.
Ability to analyze logs, network traffic, and security events to detect and respond to potential threats.
Conduct thorough testing and assessments of security systems and document the results to ensure compliance and readiness.
Provide guidance to leadership and peers on securing information systems and supporting penetration testing efforts to identify potential vulnerabilities.
Lead or assist with the incident response process, from detection to resolution, ensuring that incidents are thoroughly analyzed and remediated.
Familiarity with enterprise security tools, including SIEM solutions like Elastic Security or ArcSight, and other security-related technologies.
Experience using a ticketing system to track, manage, and report on security incidents and issues.
Solid experience with Microsoft and Linux operating systems, ensuring that both are securely configured and maintained.
Qualifications:
Required:
Clearance: Top Secret/SCI.
Years of Experience: 4-7 years minimum.
Education: Bachelor's degree (see below).
Bachelor's degree should be in IS Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Degree is negotiable with 4 years of equivalent experience.
DOD 8140 (8570) IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent).
Desired:
Candidates with prior experience working with AF DCGS systems will be highly valued.
Availability to work weekends and holidays as part of our 24/7 operations.
The ideal candidate should have 4 to 7 years of experience in intelligence network communications or systems administration.
Ability to ensure systems comply with security and privacy standards and perform audits to ensure security policies are met.
Proficiency in industry-recognized security best practices, including NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) frameworks, ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards, and SOC (Security Operations Center) operations. Strong experience in securing Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
Provide ongoing security support throughout the systems' lifecycle, ensuring that security requirements are integrated into each stage of development.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$82,100-$172,400
