We are looking to add a Space Systems Cyber Security Engineer to our team located in San Diego, CA. In this role you'll work with the lead Space Systems Cyber Security Engineer to execute the program plans to achieve and maintain ATO for our Space Systems solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fulfill the roles and responsibilities of an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) for one or more development programs. This may include:
Security requirements: Capturing and refining information security requirements, and ensuring they are integrated into information systems
Security assessments: Performing technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance with regulations
Security design: Establishing system security designs, and implementing them in hardware, software, data, and procedures
Security threats: Assessing and mitigating system security threats and risks
Security controls: Reviewing the adequacy of security controls, and assisting in tailoring them as needed
Security documentation: Creating and updating RMF documentation and artifacts
Security standards: Evaluating systems against security standards and publications
Security operations: Supporting secure systems operations and maintenance
Other Responsibilities may include:
Participate in and lead discussions in cyber security/information assurance working group meetings with our customers
Develop content and present at program design and readiness reviews.
Support development and execution of tests required for accreditation.
Responsible for technical and schedule execution of the cyber security scope of work of one or more programs.
Ensures all work products are produced in accordance with the project plan to satisfy the customer requirements.
Ensures all work product are completed on schedule.
Define IMS tasks required to complete scope of work to achieve program milestones.
Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Must have or be able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Must have one or more of the following security certifications - CISSP, GIAC Certifications, CISM, CISA, Security+.
Must have experience with system design to satisfy requirements of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), or similar standards including full lifecycle Approval & Authorization, POA&M and Monitor steps.
Must have experience with NIST800 standards including 30, 53, 82 and 171.
Must have experience with ISO27000 Series standards.
Experience with NASA Security Information Technology NPR 2810.1 desired.
Experience with the space domain including satellite ground systems' mission management, command and control systems and/or satellites is highly desired.
Experience with Network, Switch, Router & Firewall for TCP/IP and UDP networking design is highly desired.
Experience in applying DISA STIGs.
Experience with systems leveraging virtualization including VMware and/or Amazon Web Services is highly desired.
Able to work extended hours to support critical test activities or operational issues.
