Weld Cladding Machine Operator - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, OH
Our growing facility in Barberton, Ohio is seeking qualified applicants to fill Weld Cladding Machine Operator positions! Successful candidates will operate submerged arc welding and cladding machines, including satellite nozzle welding equipment, to produce quality welds.
The selected individual(s) must be able to identify and perform basic layouts to determine clad limits and will be responsible for using proper wire and flux for the job. Additionally, successful applicants will be able to inspect welds, removing slag and performing necessary chipping and grinding operations to remove defects, as required. Successful applicants will also be able to attach preheat torches inside and outside, maintain proper preheat temperatures, and make machine adjustments as the job dictates (to include wire straightener and/or electrode tip).
Required Skills/Qualifications
In order to thrive in this role, candidates must possess the skills necessary to safely and effectively perform required tasks. This includes, at a minimum, a high school diploma or GED, with a minimum of two (2) years' welding experience. A combination of welding experience and formal education may be considered. Additionally, successful candidates must:
Satisfactorily complete a pre-employment weld screen
Demonstrate ability to read and understand blueprints
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of preheat procedures
Be a citizen of the United States with no dual citizenship
Must be open and available to working ALL shifts
Complete all pre-employment processes, to include a pre-employment physical, drug screen, background and reference checks
The hourly rate for this position is up to $35.408 and is complimented by a very generous benefit package. Upon an offer, a relocation package is available for eligible candidates.
