What You Will Do
You'll join a collaborative, feedback-driven team that values creativity and works with experts from across the Laboratory. Our goal is to provide top-notch support to our customers and advance the field of net assessment-a multidisciplinary analysis of military, political, economic, and technological factors to evaluate national military capabilities and identify critical opportunities and challenges.
The candidate must be able to obtain Q and SCI clearances, which requires U.S. citizenship.
What You Need
Minimum Requirements:
Intelligence Analyst 3 ($112,000 - $186,700)
Experience with net assessment methodologies (strategies, broad scope, long-term asymmetries) and mentoring on their fundamentals.
Thorough knowledge and expertise in scientific research methodologies and analytical approaches.
Through experience and deep knowledge of intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination related to national security.
Thorough knowledge, experience and understanding of global political, economic, social, cultural, scientific, fiscal, and military factors to assess information in the current international context.
Thorough knowledge and experience with technologies related to WMD and terrorist threats.
Experience producing detailed analyses for policymakers.
Expertise in grand strategy, policy, history, economics, and/or military conditions, with a focus on the current global environment.
Strong critical thinking, writing, and briefing skills.
Ability to provide and respond to constructive feedback.
Intelligence Analyst 4 ($135,300 - $227,700)
In addition to the above, the IA-4 also includes:
Experience in planning and leading net assessment projects with effective problem-solving approaches.
Advanced communication skills in developing, writing, and presenting complex topics to non-technical audiences.
Advanced knowledge of experience and deep expertise in intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination related to national security.
Advanced knowledge of and experience in of global political, economic, social, scientific, and military conditions for assessing information in the current international context.
Advanced knowledge of and experience in understanding of the foreign intelligence and terrorist threat spectrum.
Advanced knowledge of WMD and terrorism-related technologies.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, set team direction, and achieve long-term goals.
Experience mentoring and coaching.
Education/Experience required for IA-3: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Education/Experience for IA-4: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and 13 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation
Desired skills:
Experience working with advanced-level scientists and engineers.
Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team.
Experience in writing for and briefing high-level decision makers
Experience in building new programs and developing a customer base
Active TS/SCI clearance
Advanced knowledge of and experience in classified computing requirements.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q/SCI (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
