GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Business Intelligence Analyst is an interdependent member of the analytics community who helps build a data driven culture within the Henry Ford health System. Working cross collaboratively, the Business Intelligence Analyst gathers data, generates reports, and provides actionable interpretation of information to customers. They are comfortable working with and presenting information to customers at all levels, including but not limited to executives, physicians, clinical staff, peers, and external oversight/regulatory bodies. They assist in developing comprehensive routine and adhoc reports and implement new or improved reporting processes to support strategic goals or key operations. The Business Intelligence Analyst fulfills challenging requests, manages deadlines, and works with their manager or more senior team members to maintain timeliness and quality of delivery. They consistently demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills while maintaining keen attention to detail.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tells a story with data insights to help leaders make actionable decisions.
Works collaboratively with leaders and more senior team members to understand how data solutions can make a positive impact; consults, designs metrics and reports, and builds solutions as needed.
Documents process flows and ensures they are monitored for accuracy and quality.
Provides end-user training on existing tools.
Routinely participates in webinars and other educational resources to enhance understanding of current developments in healthcare environment.
Generates suggestions for improving work efficiency and promoting quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
Applies statistical concepts and relays findings, resulting in actionable information.
Serves as a liaison between Analytics and Market/Community business leaders.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Applied Science. OR an Associate degree with 10 years of healthcare analyst experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
One to two (1-2) years of healthcare or business setting experience required.
Experience in the use of any Enterprise Databases or shared data repository.
Experience with Electronic Medical Record System (EMR) report development.
Experience in the use of a programming language.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products; including Excel and Power Pivot.
Understanding of SQL, data visualization tools, and relational databases.
Customer service experience with active listening skills.
Ability to present information to diverse audiences.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of statistical concepts.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy
Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures
