BAE Systems Mission Assessments (MA) organization is revolutionizing how mission-level operational analysis is planned, executed, and delivered. The Mission Assessments organization was created to address the rapidly increasing demand for mission-level operational analysis. Our mission is to achieve excellence in Multidomain Operations (MDO), systems-of-systems (SoS) Mission Assessments and effectively communicate the value of BAE Systems products to customers, DoD leadership and the warfighter. To do this we must bring together models of advanced technologies, weapons, platforms, and threats in relevant mission simulations and then apply our deep subject matter expertise and experience to deliver assessments that can change the world.
BAE Systems is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Threat Analyst to join the Mission Assessments team to provide technical direction and oversight of our threat analysis efforts. The Threat Analysis Lead is responsible for working directly with Government Intel Analysts to gather the data products needed to fully understand the threats and lead the production of the threat models in support of Mission Analysis. The Threat Analysis Lead is also responsible for maintaining a library of threat data and models that are up to date and available for Mission Analysis Studies.
The Threat Analysis Lead reports to the MA Technical Director. They work with the MA Tech Director, Mission Area Study Leads, and Study Managers to support operational analysis studies executed by MA Analysts with threat models. They will also support each Business Area Tech Director and the Business Area Product Lines with threat information required to perform on their respective contracts. The Threat Lead should have a deep understanding of the various intelligence products available to build models of the threats and how to obtain them. They should have an understanding of BAE Systems technology areas such as integrated Electronic Warfare (EW) systems including Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Protection (EP) and Electronic Support (ES) for RF sensing, detection, identification, geolocation, and jamming; infrared (IR) imaging, guidance, survivability and targeting; C4ISR for actionable intelligence including SIGINT, EO/IR, Multi-INT, and hyperspectral solutions; and information technologies including fusion and dynamic mission battle management.
The ideal Threat Analysis Lead candidate has experience with threat analysis, Intel products and organizations, modeling and simulation, and/or EW technologies. Threat Lead candidates should have experience providing direction to and mentoring of junior engineers or analysts, experience presenting threat information to senior leaders, and have experience being responsible for a team s technical output.
Responsibilities include:
Interface with customers, especially product line or business area technical directors and other technical staff, as the primary POC for threat models and libraries.
Responsible for the technical execution and subject matter expertise of a threat analyses.
Take direction from the MA Tech Director and MA Engineering Lead regarding tradecraft, prioritization, and execution of studies and tasks.
Work with Study Managers and Study Leads to build threat models that support MA Studies.
Work with intel community and govt program customers to understand emerging threats and shape threat lists.
Brief threat Intel and Model updates, providing recommendations and threat expertise to product line and business area tech directors, other BA technical staff to help keep the technical teams up to date on the lates threat data.
Lead threat scenario development and threat-based assessments identifying gaps and requirements for new technology.
Build and contribute to IR&D plans, identify IR&D needs and priorities, and lead threat related IR&D technical execution.
Build and maintain a Sector level threat library that supports the wide variety of efforts across the ES Sector, including periodic updates to BA technical staff on key threats of interest.
Prepare for and Conduct EW Days annual Intel Symposium update to Sector Staff
Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site . This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI and SAP clearances
Bachelor s degree in a STEM field and 10 years technical experience (MS and 8 years preferred).
8 years technical / engineering leadership experience including performance management, coaching, mentoring and inspiring a technical staff with diverse experience, technical views, and individual differences
Critical thinking skills that will be exercised across multiple levels of detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communications skills ranging from technical briefings to executive level presentations.
Experience developing and using analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python, C/C , or similar tools.
Experience using mission simulation tools such as AFSIM, DIADS, JSE, BRAWLER, STK, TMAP, ESAMS, etc.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Active Top Secret / SCI Clearance
Expertise in Electronic Warfare, Weapons, Optics, or Communications
Experience with DoD warfighting operations in any domain
Experience with collaborative Modeling and Simulation environments and the DoD OA community.
Knowledge of mission simulation driven by Model Based Systems Engineering
Knowledge of DevSecOps and DevSecOps pipeline driven by mission simulation-enabled test environments.
Experience with tools, infrastructure, and security constraints of DoD environments.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
