Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an experienced Manager, General Manufacturing 1 for our Northridge, CA location.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for daily operations of a team or work unit (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs).
Program Manager responsibilities include: cost, schedule, and technical performance of a specific unit or work package on a large system development-type contract or broad responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a delivery order or small technical services-type contract.
Guidance Given, Assignments Received.
Assignments are received in task oriented terms. Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Supervisory or management responsibilities for more than one functional area in the Manufacturing and Production job family.
Knowledge and Technical Skills:
Analysis & interpretation. Full working knowledge of procedures and practices.
Decision Making
Relates more to specific job function. Risk to the Corporation is minimal. Makes decisions relating to accomplishment of daily work responsibilities.
Direct Work Involvement
Monitors work operations of exempt and/or non-exempt employees on a daily basis and actively assists or provides direction to subordinates as required. May perform, especially in staff or professional groups, on-going operational tasks of organizational groups.
Policy Involvement:
Executes department procedures that typically affect individual employees within own department. Policy management: Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
High school diploma or GED equivalent and 10 Years of applicable Manufacturing Experience. Will also consider Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of Manufacturing Experience. Or MS degree and 4 years of applicable experience.
Experience working in a DoD Contract environment
Demonstrated ability to lead people and teams
Ability to provide direction to determine priorities to achieve goals
Ability to develop and present material outside the immediate work function
Ability to comprehend and analyze problems and develop solutions
Ability to spend at least 75% of time on the Manufacturing Floor
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
Experience as a Manufacturing Lead or Supervisor
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
Experience with 5S
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site in Northridge, CA. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position.

Salary Range: $97,600 - $146,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
