Overview
We are seeking an RF and Networking Test Specialist/Engineer to provide RF support functions and RF engineering and Networking Testing efforts for MIDS-LVT and JTRS terminals including support for planning, documentation, test conduct, training, and other requirements.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
Basic knowledge and experience with Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave electronics and antennas for communication systems.
Basic knowledge of Network Engineering and Networking Architecture to include: Local Router Management, VPNs, Routers and other Physical Hardware, Installing and configuring network equipment
Provide set-up, activation, operation, and troubleshooting support for Navy external communications systems and systems integration efforts.
Executes tests and data analysis in accordance with the test plan guidance. Provides support to develop and/or provide input to pre-test and post-test documentation (e.g. Test Plan, Test Procedures, automated scripts, Daily Status Reports (DSR), Quick Look Reports (QLR), and Test Reports). Use the resultant data to develop, propose, and/or implement solutions to any issues.
Provides operations and troubleshooting expertise in support of test events, including remote support for off-site participants.

Typical Working Conditions:
General office environment with US Government provided NMCI Computer and peripheral equipment
Essential Physical Tasks:
Ability to lift >10 lbs. on an occasional basis.
Possibility of Domestic and International travel up to 15% of the time by automobile, air, etc.
Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis.
Written Communications:
Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and
Excel) effectively with a high degree of competency.
Independently generates documentation that presents information in a logical manner.
Verbal Communications:
Demonstrates excellent clear and concise verbal communication skills.
Active communicator - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications:
Two (2) years experience with RF/Microwave data communications systems in a radio propagation environment, including those operating within the Medium/High Frequency (MF/HF), Very High Frequency (VHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Extremely High Frequency (EHF), and Super High Frequency (SHF) to include systems/equipment.
Experience with set-up and operation of RF/Microwave communications systems used for data transportation, signal routing systems, and other interface and computer control equipment/systems.
Familiarization with the set-up and proper use of multi-meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and associated communication systems test equipment.
Experience with computer networks including local router management, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware
Customer Interface Activities:
Suitable inter-personnel and customer service skills required to interface with corporate customers.
Ability to effectively communicate with the Customer, NIWC Pacific Center's staff, and peer contractor personnel.

Able to efficiently adapt to new priorities. This includes effectively multitasking project responsibilities
with an awareness to support changes as needed.
The ability to work non-standard work hours and schedules in support of project requirements.
Travel:
Available for travel to CONUS/OCONUS project sites to provide operator and technical support as required.
Certifications:
IAT Level 1
CCNA
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in a STEM field preferred
High School Diploma required, with 4-6 years experience acceptable in lieu of Bachelor degree
Pay Range: $90,000.00 to $120,000.00 annually, DOE.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Security Clearance:
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
