Electrical Design Manager

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Design Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to be responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and monitoring the works of electrical designers to ensure alignment with project requirements and scope.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Review, coordinate, and monitor the works of electrical designers to ensure compliance with their scope of work.
- Manage responses to design and construction RFIs, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Review and provide comments on change orders from designers and contractors, including technical assessments and innovative solutions.
- Support clients and private developers regarding existing and future electrical network issues and extra load requirements in compliance with local authority regulations.
- Prepare electrical RFPs and technical scope of works as requested by clients or the project team.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (4 years).
- A minimum of 15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in the Qatar/GCC region on similar large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Grade A MME registration is required for the role.
- Strong experience in electrical engineering for infrastructure, utilities, and landscape projects, including HV, MV, LV, ELV, SSD, Telecom, street lighting, landscape lighting, and other related systems.
- Proven experience in PMCM (Project Management and Construction Management) and ability to manage electrical design processes.
- Strong knowledge in testing and commissioning of electrical systems and a solid understanding of local authority regulations and industry best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to perform key technical roles, especially as a design manager for large-scale projects.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
- Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring coordination between electrical engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Experience with advanced project management tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for tracking project timelines, cost, and resources.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically in fast-paced or high-pressure situations.
- Ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with electrical designs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Experience with sustainable energy systems or smart grid technologies, aligning with modern infrastructure and utility trends.
- A proactive approach to client engagement, ensuring that client needs are met while maintaining a focus on project goals and timelines.
- Knowledge of international electrical codes and standards to ensure compliance with global best practices.
- Experience in leading and mentoring teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across the project group.
