Job Description:
Ready for a challenge as a software/systems engineer that will let you influence the next generation of DoD radars? Parsons is seeking a C++/MATLAB developer with systems engineering experience to join a radar research and development team in the US Army C5ISR Center at Aberdeen, MD. As part of the Parsons team, you will work with radar subject matter experts and government stakeholders to understand the needs of future warfighters and guide development of current and experimental systems to better support these requirements. Your work will directly influence the development of cutting-edge military technology and will help to improve the effectiveness of the United States Army warfighter.
The selected candidate will develop radar signal and data processing software in support of a U.S. Army radar system R&D division within the US Combat Capabilities Development Command. The position requires technical coordination with internal and external organizations to support requirements definition, near real-time C++ implementations of signal processing algorithms, and coordination with teams implementing similar algorithms within MATLAB, as well as within System on a Chip (SoC) embedded solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop algorithms for Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Digital Beam Forming (DBF), and general I/Q processing; implement these algorithms in C++/MATLAB and integrate into distributed simulation environment
- Provide expertise in signal and data processing, particularly in the processing of radar data
- Write test procedures for algorithm evaluation and analysis
- Manage code quality through version control, automated software builds, and automated unit testing
- Support test planning activities and provide on-site test support to support radar division projects
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (STEM) from an accredited institution with three years of experience minimum
- 1+ year of implementation experience in C++ 11 or C++ 14 and MATLAB
- Competent understanding of algorithms and software design patterns
- Experience with systems engineering in radar, including requirements derivation and interface development
- Active DoD Secret Clearance
- Clearly communicates complex ideas and produces high-impact, well-organized presentations in relevant terms for audiences at all levels
Desired Qualifications:
- Proactive continuous learner, ideally with public repositories on GitLab, GitHub, etc.
- Quality technical writing skills
- Good understanding of unit testing in C++

Salary Range:
