Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Contracts and Commercial Manager to join our team!
In this role you will manage all contract activity for a Division, a major market segment, or for a project of significant size, and represent the Company in negotiations of the most-complex contractual issues.
You must be fully knowledgeable of all legal, business, financial, and long-term implication of prime contract negotiation and maintenance. Travel to the client’s offices or to the project site may be required, either before the contract receives final approval or during the life of the contract
Provide direction for contracts and procurement matters, so this position is accountable for development of strategy and execution of commercial and procurement management, reporting to the Project Director.
What You'll Be Doing:
Implements the commercial and procurement management strategy and plans.
Implement standard operating procedures for the commercial management aspects of the program and ensure that the team follow them so there is operational consistency across the program.
Provides outreach oversight and provides coaching and guidance to the commercial management specialists concerning day to day performance of the work scope.
Facilitates forming partnerships with key stakeholders and organizations impacted by the program.
Responsible for internal commercial management among our team (including subcontractors).
Responsible for external commercial managements, including all major contracts.
Responsible for working closely with client and others to ensure best for program commercial and procurement management decisions.
Reports commercial management challenges and issues to the Project Director and develops appropriate resolutions/mitigations as necessary.
Assigns work to employees, and tracks the completion of work assignments.
Interviews and selects personnel for assignment as required.
Maintains clear and concise work standards and goals; provides training and development; completes performance evaluations, conducts employee counselling, takes corrective action as necessary.
Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies and procedures.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in construction law, quantity surveying, Business Administration, Finance, or related field, and typically 15+ years of prime contract administration experience within a large international engineering and construction firm is required.
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and the negotiation of prime contracts. Incumbent must also possess strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with contract administration.
