Training Specialist - Mineman A School Instructor

Our work depends on Training Specialist joining our team to develop; organize; and conduct Mine Warfare (MIW) training and educational programs for personnel assigned to US Navy Ships and new accession sailors in all facets of basic mine warfare principles related to Mining and Mine Countermeasure operations.
Supports the training requirements and curriculum development efforts for use in Mineman Class "A" School. Must be capable of conducting conventional knowledge-based classroom teaching and performance-based laboratory training.
The successful candidate for this position will be able to evaluate the effectiveness of training materials and procedures and make recommendations for revisions in accordance with the NAVEDTRA 130 series of manuals.
They will coordinate the development and delivery of complex training programs and related materials in support of customer training objectives. Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
The candidate will provide training to initial Navy accession personnel in the Mineman rating. Candidate must possess the knowledge and skills to train personnel to perform Apprentice-level tasks on surface vessels, at shore maintenance facilities, Mobile Mine Assembly Units, or Aviation Mine Countermeasures Units.
Candidate must have a general knowledge in and be able to instruct the following topics from approved technical manuals, operational publications, and rate-training manuals required of the Mineman rating, MCM Platforms, operational aspects of Mine Warfare.
The Candidate must have a general knowledge in the assembly and disassembly of mines and their components, test equipment operations and maintenance, Combat Information Center (CIC) operations, MCM Sonar and Mine Neutralization operations, mechanical and influence minesweeping operations, deck operations, small arms and security, Planned Maintenance System, and Shipboard Navigation and Littoral Combat Ship (LCS).
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Associates / Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline desired (not required); or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work / military experience.
Five (5) years of experience with the required system as either a supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment. One (1) year of experience as an Instructor (NEC 9502) in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction, and counseling students on academic learning problems.
Experience as a trainer/instructor and/or a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of SCSTC/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing. Travel may be required up to 10% of time.

The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $92,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
