Roles and Responsibilities:
TAK is a mapping engine developed for the Android, IOS, & Windows Operating Systems which allows for precision targeting & intelligence on surrounding critical infrastructures using GPS and National Geospatial Agency map data overlaid with real-time situational awareness of ongoing events. TAK enables the FMF to access a suite of georeferenced imagery and communications tools to allow for scaled operational planning, data sharing, visualized elevation data, and target management to enable the FMF to make informed decisions and quickly respond to threats.
This role will support the Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) capability at the Marine Corps Tactical System Support Activity (MCTSSA) at Camp Pendleton supporting the Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) worldwide. The TAK role provides remote and onsite guidance to assist the FMF to establish, manage, troubleshoot, and maintain large and small-scale TAK solutions. The TAK role will utilize COTS, GOTS, and Program of Record (POR) hardware and software to establish TAK environments. These support efforts are provided to military units while deployed, in garrison, in preparation for, and while participating in major exercises and contingency operations.
Assist users to acquire, install and configure a variety of TAK servers and clients in geographically dispersed and network challenged environments.
Introduce FMF to the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and advances to emergent capabilities to achieve interdependence and operational effectiveness.
Assist users utilize TAK ISR, Jumpmaster, fires (9-Line, Digital CAS), UAV control, tactical survey, range and bearing, and Route Planning and Navigation Tools and Tactical Chat.
Configure TAK to operate over a wide variety of communication paths to meet operational requirement.
Federate TAK Servers to enable partner nations to share data.
Provide C2 technical advice and support Battle Staffs with the identification of information flow required to support Mission Essential Tasks (MET) in the identification of the configuration and integration of C2 systems.
Resolve complex C2 Systems issues related to system upgrades, network restrictions (ports, protocols, firewalls), and system versions.
Interface with FMF personnel and US Government employees to provide break/fix support to USMC tactical networks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Research questions using available information resources: technical manuals, operating and administrator guides, fleet advisory messages (FAMs), and internal approved knowledge base(s).
Identify and elevate situations requiring urgent attention.
Provide remote support to the FMF on other C2 related systems such as C2PC, TCS, GCCS-J, MCH, and JBC-P using the proprietary solutions and ticket management system.
Research questions using available information resources: technical manuals, operating and administrator guides, fleet advisory messages (FAMs), and internal approved knowledge base(s).
Generate new KBAs within the Ground C2 Portfolio.
Create Tech Tube videos for the most common system issues within the portfolio.
Coordinate travel arrangements to facilitate onsite support requests.
Write after-action reports (AARs) to account for the support provided onsite.
Education, Knowledge, and Technical Certification:

Experience equal to degree level
Familiar with configuring GCCS-TCO software (JTCW and TCS) to provide Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Commanders a Common Operational Picture (COP), and coordinate COP Synchronization Tool (CST) configuration with higher, adjacent, and lower echelon commands.
Understand and troubleshoot basic computer, android and IOS configurations.
Understand ICSF versions and version compatibility.
In depth understanding of differing message format standards and compatibility between POR systems.

Experience working with customers, addressing issues, and managing customer concerns and requests over the phone and/or in person.
Strong active listening, data entry, and documentation skills.
Experience writing technical solutions and commercial knowledgebase articles.
Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and consistent resolution of IT problems.
Requirements
TRAVEL REQUIRED FOR POSITION - Must be able to obtain or possess a valid US Passport and be physically qualified to support military exercises and contingency operations.
Experience working with customers, addressing issues, and managing customer concerns and requests over the phone and/or in person.
Experience supporting Marine Corps C4I systems and equipment.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in military training and education.
Direct participation in real-world operations is desired.
Strong active listening, data entry, and documentation skills.
