We are seeking an emerging, or experienced, Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our team in Grand Prairie, TX.
What You Will Be Doing
Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and analyzing GNC algorithms, Inertial Tracking / Target State Estimation algorithms, and Navigation algorithms using various simulations.
The GNC Engineer must have experience designing closed-loop control systems.
Engineer will develop and test 6-DOF simulation models and algorithms.
The GNC Engineer will contribute to the development and performance assessment of the Integrated Flight Simulation (IFS).
The candidate GNC Engineer should have some experience with Inertial Target Tracking algorithms.
The candidate should have familiarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics and rotating coordinate systems.
This role will require onsite support full-time at Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control headquarters in Grand Prairie, TX working a 4/10 Flex schedule.
This position requires a current DoD Secret clearance, therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
Experience with Missile 6DOF simulation design and analysis
Experience with the development and analysis of guidance, navigation and/or autopilot algorithms
Experience with the design of target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association
Experience with operational flight programs (OFP) within an integrated high fidelity 6DOF simulation
Demonstrated strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and/or coordinate transformation.
Experience with C/C++ and MATLAB programming
**Must hold an active Secret Clearance prior to start.
Desired Skills:
Modeling & Simulation experience
Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as KALMAN and Extended KALMAN filter (EKF)
Experience with preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses
Experience with ARISE is a plus but not required
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
