PCSI is looking for Cook on North Fort Cavazos. This position will report to the Lead Cook . Typical work hours will be: A.M. shift 4:00 am- 12:30pm, P.M shift 12:00pm- 8:30pm, with monthly rotation.

Base pay $17.45hr depending upon experience.
additional allowance every hour worked: uniform $0.15, Shift differential $0.20 after 1:00pm, travel pay $1.45.

What you will do as a Cook:
Weight and measure ingredients using measuring tools.
Check production schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to prepare.
Prepare meats, starches, vegetables and fruits for service in an army dining facility. Other food preparation includes: soups, gravies, and sandwiches; bake pies, cookies, and cake; slice meat, cut, peel, and prepare fruits and vegetables; prepare sauces, custards and Jell-O's.
Serve food on cafeteria line to soldiers and civilians in a courteous manner.
Maintain inventory records and properly measure food amounts, as required. May be required to convert recipe cards standardized at one-hundred portions to lesser or greater amounts.
Observe company safety procedures and standards insuring a safe working environment for oneself, co-workers, customers, and property.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and members of the military armed forces regardless of race, color, creed, religion, marital status, sex, age, or physical/mental disability.
Complete cleaning tasks using developed cleaning SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) including designated processes, materials and equipment.
What you'll need to be successful:
High school diploma or GED and some specialized training in high-volume feeding.
Minimum of 6 months of prior experience working in food services preferred.
Knowledge, Skille and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of safety principles and practices as related to cleaning and food preparation. Knowledge of the principles and practices of sanitation and personal hygiene as applied for food preparation and services
Thorough knowledge of safe handling of foods.
Thorough knowledge of procedures for safe handling of all chemicals related to job and protective gear when working with chemicals. Become knowledgeable in the usage of (SDS) Safety Data Sheets.
Knowledge of the methods, procedures, materials and equipment involved in a large-scale preparation of food.
Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule.
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
Ability to reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to establish effective working relationships.
This position is generally considered a light to medium duty job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to assist and communicate with others as needed.
Other Requirements:
Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.
Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to use general commercial kitchen equipment including mixing machines, blenders, deep-fat fryers, and convection/conventional ovens, etc.
May be required to work long periods of time while occasionally standing under conditions of high temperature.
Possess valid driver's license and maintain good driving record.
If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
