ARA is seeking a Staff Modeling and Simulation Engineer with a background in unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) physics to support US Navy UUV Modeling, simulation, and testing efforts. Seeking an individual with a deep understanding of unmanned underwater vehicle systems (Remotely operated and autonomous vehicles).
As a Staff Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you will conduct modeling and simulation activities that include analysis, simulation development, verification or validation.
Required Experience and Expertise include :
A bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related field and 2-4 years' experience in unmanned underwater vehicle physics.
U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Previous experience in physics-based engineering modeling and simulation.
Experience implementing (3 rd party) UUV physics modeling and simulations based on theory and physical data.
Experience developing and implementing real time high-fidelity physics models for UUVs.
Experience verifying and validating UUV physics modeling and simulations based on physical test data.
Experience modeling underwater environments and factors that impact UUV operation (and simulation).
Experience preparing research reports, technical proposals, formal presentations, and reading/interpretating data.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite and programming language such as Python, C++, Fortran, etc.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a diverse team setting.
Preferred Experience:
Working with U.S. Navy UUVs or similar.
Working with the Naval Autonomy Test System (NATS), NATS Integrated Management System (NIMS), and/or Virtual Maritime Autonomy Test Environment (VMATE).
Developing and/or using Tactical Awareness Kit (TAK) applications.
Developing and conducting testing for digital twin environments.
Surveying underwater environments and finding/collecting available data for testing.
Active DoD Secret security clearance.
This job is onsite and can be based out of Panama City, Florida or San Antonio, TX.
