Job Summary
Work closely with, learn from, and assist Reliability & Safety Engineers in our Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems line of business. We pride ourselves on our culture of friendliness and teamwork here at DRS. Our Engineers and Technicians find their work environments unique as they are not locked into a single task. Job Responsibilities
Support engineering with routine engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks
Work independently on daily tasks
Ensure systems comply with government standards
Under direction, responsible for completing process documentation, bill of materials, route sheets, etc
Review project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature
of technical problem and possible solutions, to capture and document safety analysis and findings
Review engineering changes/mishaps and confirm all design changes are thoroughly incorporated into the system
Under direction, track mitigation of software and firmware related hazards
Analyze test results related to the design and test objectives and adjusts equipment to bring within specification; record
these test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test
methods
Assist in the creation of documentation to maintain equipment
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications
Enrolled in a 4 year Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program, or have majors/minors in Human Factors and Safety
At least 2 years of college completed with 3.0 GPA or better.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to solve complex problems using your natural curiosity.
Work effectively as a member of a team or on individual tasks.
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
