Union College invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor in French and Francophone Studies in the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures for two academic terms, beginning January and ending mid-June 2025. Position Description
The successful candidate will be expected to teach two language courses per term, along with supporting our co-curricular programming. We seek a colleague with demonstrated excellence at basic and intermediate levels of language instruction (native or near-native fluency in French is required). We seek a candidate with a student-centered, communicative approach to language pedagogy. Evidence of co-curricular engagement , including planning cultural events, a plus. Ph.D. and ABD candidates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $46,000-$48,000. Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
