BAE Systems is seeking a Mid-level Data Scientist to support our government customer at Reston, VA and Patrick Space Force Base, FL.
This Mid-level Data Scientist will be working in a classified environment and will conduct data analytics, data engineering, data mining, exploratory analysis, predictive analysis, and statistical analysis. Responsibilities will include:
Create data packages in the form of databases, reports, and visualizations
Communicate ongoing data science activities, technical findings, and data products for both technical and non-technical customers.
Extract relevant features from large data stores containing open source, PAI, and CAI, containing bad records, partial records, errors, or other forms of noising.
Extract features from open-source information stored in a wide range of possible formats, including JSON, XML, raw text logs, industry-specific encodings, and graph link data.
Apply natural language processing, computer vision, signal processing, and speaker and speech recognition algorithms to identify objects in text, image, video, and audio files.
Knowledgeable of and demonstrates ability to apply IC and DoD classification guidelines and procedures.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Mid-level: Bachelor s degree in a related computer science area with 8 years of data science experience with related experience within the last 2 years, or a 10 years of experience.
Be able to execute data science method using parallel computing frameworks (e.g. deeplearing4j, Torch, Tensor Flow, Caffe, Neon, NVIDIA CUDA Deep Neural Network library (cuDNN), and OpenCV) and distributed data processing frameworks (e.g. Hadoop (including HDFS, Hbase, Hive, Impala, Giraph, Sqoop), Spark (including MLib, GraphX, SQL and Dataframes).
Execute data science method using common programming/scripting languages: Python, Java, Scala, R (statistics).
Prior military or government analytical experience
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Graduate of Government OSINT Training courses (e.g., U.S. Army OBC, OS301/OS302, CASO, defense or IC equivalent (DIA BOTC, FBI OS101).
Experience conducting intelligence analytical support for the IC/DoD
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $75570 - $128480
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
