As a Test Engineer at Parsons, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You will work closely with developers, end users, and organizations to create test plans and test scripts, coordinate test events, and manage the defect database. Your comprehensive technical expertise in IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, and networks will be essential in configuring necessary hardware and operating environments for testing.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Test Plan and Script Creation: Collaborate with developers, end users, and organizations to create detailed test plans and test scripts.
- Test Event Coordination: Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan and execute test events in accordance with approved test plans, procedures, and scripts.
- Report Creation: Generate comprehensive reports on test activities, tracking problems, and reporting on identified errors.
- Hardware and Environment Configuration: Configure necessary hardware and operating environments to complete assigned testing tasks.
- Technical Expertise: Apply comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, and networks to ensure effective testing.
- Test Plan Development: Write or assist in the development of test plans and test procedures.
- Defect Management: Manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers, ensuring accurate tracking and resolution of issues.
- Test Environment Management: Ensure that test environments are properly set up and maintained to support testing activities.
- Problem Tracking: Track problems and report on errors that are identified during testing, working to resolve issues promptly.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teams within the organization to resolve network-related issues as needed.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required and:
- 5+ years experience or 11+ years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- 8+ years experience or 16+ years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Must have a current/active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance if one becomes required in the future.
- Proven experience as a Test Engineer, with a focus on creating test plans and test scripts.
- Experience in coordinating and executing test events in accordance with approved test plans, procedures, and scripts.
- Experience in configuring necessary hardware and operating environments for testing.
- Experience in writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures.
- Experience in managing defect databases.
- Comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, and networks.
- Knowledge of test environment setup and maintenance.

Salary Range:
