Job Description: The primary role of this position is to provide optical engineering supporton various aerospace programs. These programs utilize imaging systems ranging from UV to LWIR regions of the EM radiation spectrum. Engineering support is in the form of design/analysis and alignment/test of optical systems and components.
Essential Functions:
- Testing of optical systems and components
- Working with cross-discipline teams to build and utilize optical test sets
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal skills
- Performing troubleshooting and requirements verification
- Optical design, modeling and programming
- Systems trade studies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Optics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics with 0 to 1 years of prior related experience.
- Experience in optical design/modeling, systems trade studies, and analysis of remote sensing infrared and visible space qualified systems and components
- Experience with Zemax and/or Code V optical software.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in optical engineering or aerospace industry
- Knowledge of Code V and/or Zemax software tools
- Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills
- Knowledge of FRED, Matlab, Python
- Exposure to Systems Engineering standards, processes and disciplines
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $63,500 MIN - $117,500MAX.
