Responsibilities
??As a Principal engineer on the Azure Maps team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of geospatial services, enhancing Microsoft Fabric with advanced geospatial analytics capabilities. Your experience in geospatial analytics, location intelligence, and building reliable and scalable cloud services will be essential in delivering the capabilities to customers worldwide. Bring your experience to the team through design review, code review, driving large scale architecture and mentoring while helping the team build an inclusive culture where everyone can do their best work. Qualifications
Required /Minimum Qualifications
??Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred/Additional Qualifications
??Experience with Apache Spark or other big data processing platforms.
Experience building and shipping machine learned models in geospatial domain.?
6+ years of experience as a software engineer or software developer, implementing product-quality code and tests.
2+ years of experience with Location Analytics or Maps/GIS processing.
Passionate about writing code and proficient in at least one programing language such as C#, C++, Java, or similar modern development languages.
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, programming patterns, and solving complex problems.
Demonstrated history of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong collaborative and interpersonal communication skills.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
