Maxar is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Platforms Ordering team. This
is a hybrid/remote position located in the Westminster, CO area.

You will be part of the Platform Ordering team responsible for developing,
deploying, and maintaining APIs for the Maxar Geospatial Platform. The
software you build will support commercial, USG, and International
customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for helping to lead small
development teams across multiple product families and use cases.
Your Career
In this role, you will help lead development teams, develop, test, and
operate highly-available and scalable full-stack software that enables the
streaming, downloading, and ordering of Maxar data holdings for commercial
and government use. We are investing heavily in modernizing and unifying our
software products, where you will play a vital role. You will have the
freedom to design and engineer solutions to drive innovative, modern
approaches to meet our user needs and customer requirements. A successful
candidate will be a passionate developer that embraces modern software
development and insists others do as well. You will introduce automation and
evangelize new tools and processes within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
Be a leader within the smaller, focused development teams which contribute
to our overall Platform APIs. These APIs will impact a wide array of
products, and as such will require post-deployment support.
Develop back-end software for high-performance, data processing systems
within an Agile team environment.
Perform peer reviews, create test cases and procedures to verify software
functionality.
Help architect particular features and capabilities, as well as document the
ensuing implementation choices.
Participate in software requirements evaluation, generation, design,
implementation, and testing discussions.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
4-6 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree
Programming experience with Python and Java
Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Ansible,
Terraform) and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab)
Exposure to database technologies and management principles
Experience building services on AWS, including use of serverless computing
technologies
Experience with a large shared monolithic codebase and continuous integration
and deployment workflows and tooling
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with query languages (SQL, PL/SQL) and databases
(relational, NoSQL, and graph databases e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL,
MongoDB, Neo4j
Experience with utilizing automated testing and linting (PyTest, Black,
Flake8, Radon, iSort)
Experience with user-interface design and development
A background developing REST API endpoints
Experience with service-oriented and microservice architectures
Strong written communications
Highly focused self-starter that likes solving problems
Passion for learning and teaching new technical skills

our U.S. job postings. We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop
market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we
hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have
listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the
target range for a specific location during the recruitingdiscussion.
Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of
knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential
commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:$89,000.00
$189,000.00 annually.
