Job Description:
Intern position will support multiple functional initiatives that contribute to the most effective means of acquisition, receipt, distribution, and inventory management for programs execution.
Essential Functions:
In this position the intern may have the opportunity to participate in any combination of the following activities, and may handle information related to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR):
Apply basic Supply Chain principles and concepts in support of MMAS, MAAR 13, ITAR, and other regulatory compliance.
Limited understanding of Supply Chain's influence on annual operating plan to include orders, sales, profit, and cash flow.
Task oriented; solves problems of basic complexity. Responsible for navigating routine tasks with assistance. Able to locate information in systems by running reports or navigating through software programs. Relies on others to identify trends and defects.
Understand the basic use and purpose of MRP and MRP systems, execute transactions effectively in each system as directed.
Must be able to communicate effectively with Supply Chain Management (SCM), Production Planning, and Logistics
Regularly receives project direction and guidance.
Qualifications:
In process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, General Business Management, Business Administration, or related.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience using MRP systems software.
Financial and quantitative analytical skills
Basic understanding of MMAS and other related regulations.
Familiar with LEAN/Six Sigma, critical thinking, Tiger Teams, and/or Kaizen.
Ability to obtain U.S. granted government security clearance.
Experience working in the US DOD manufacturing industry.
Understanding of industry principles, concepts, practices, and standards, along with a basic knowledge of the manufacturing process.
Familiar with Bills of Material (BOM) and engineering drawings.
Excel skills including Pivot tables, downloading data from database, etc.
Working experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, WORD, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
