This position is eligible for a Department of Defense SkillBridge Program Internship for active duty servicemembers transitioning out of the U.S. Military.

POSITION PURPOSE:
We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Intern to join our team. This internship provides a unique opportunity for college-level students to gain hands-on experience in security operations and governance, risk, and compliance within the field of cyber security. The selected candidate will work closely with experienced professionals to support and enhance the cyber security program at North Wind.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in monitoring and analyzing security events and incidents North Wind environment.
Support the identification, investigation, and resolution of security alerts and anomalies.
Collaborate with senior team members to assess security risks and vulnerabilities across the organization's infrastructure and applications.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security tools and technologies to enhance the overall security posture.
Contribute to the development and documentation of cyber security procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Stay updated on emerging cyber security threats, trends, and best practices through continuous learning and self-study.
Provide general administrative support to the cyber security team as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Currently enrolled in a college program with a focus on computer science, information technology, cyber security, or a related field.
Basic understanding of cyber security principles, concepts, and methodologies.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with security technologies such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), firewalls, and antivirus solutions is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position is a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time but will also be required to stand, walk, and communicate with others.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work to be performed indoors in a typical office environment.
