Position Specific Description
Position Overview:
NextEra Energy is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic summer intern with a strong passion for cloud application development. This opportunity is perfect for someone eager to gain hands-on experience and grow within a dynamic team that leverages cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Development and Management:
-Engage in the design, development, and deployment of applications on AWS Cloud environments.
-Collaborate with team members to optimize cloud-based solutions and ensure seamless integration with other services.
API Development:
-Develop robust APIs using TypeScript/JavaScript languages.
-Collaborate on enhancing backend services to improve scalability and performance.
UI Development:
-Design and implement engaging user interfaces using Angular.
-Integrate UI components with AI/ML models to create intelligent, user-friendly applications.
Database Management:
Use SQL to manage relational databases such as Postgres or Oracle.
Ensure data integrity, optimize queries, and foster efficient data storage solutions.
DevOps Automation:
Participate in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices utilizing CloudFormation and other automation tools.
Work on automating deployments, maintaining environments, and monitoring applications for performance improvements.
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge or experience with AWS Cloud services.
Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript for API development.
Familiarity with Angular for UI development.
Experience or coursework involving SQL and relational database management.
Understanding of DevOps principles and IaC with CloudFormation.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills.

Job Overview
To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor's degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Assists department with assigned projects
Completes challenging projects and assignments
Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High school grad / GED
Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
