Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a ground program.
This position may be located at our Morrisville North Carolina, Redondo Beach California, or Fairfax Virginia locations. (Compensation varies per location)
This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.
As a Systems Engineer, you will be on the SEIT team where you will design, develop, and document requirements and verification activities for a Ground Segment. Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission.
Basic Qualifications
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance at time of application
Must have a completed STEM degree with below years of experience in systems engineering [a degree in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics]
8 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's (STEM)
6 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's (STEM)
4 Years of relevant experience with a completed Ph.D. (STEM)
Must have experience on all of the below:
Proficient with Cameo specifically requirement management
Atalassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence)
System-level technical review coordination
Verification details for system requirements and experience communicating details to company
Execution of verification tests
Development and management of system and lower-level requirements
Familiarity with Ground Processing System including Command and Control
Must be willing to submit to a polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Agile program execution.
Matlab, Python, MBSE
Excellent technical writing and team-building skills

Salary Range: $121,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
