Job Descriptions:
Aviation & Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our diverse team, in Huntsville, AL., to create unique solutions for complex problems. AMS provides responsive, cost-effective engineering and scientific solutions ranging from air and missile defense technologies, command and control, radar systems, seekers, modeling & simulation, and prototype hardware development and testing.
The Engineer or Analyst in this role perform the following:
All-source intelligence analysis of foreign threat systems with a focus on multi-function phased-array radars and surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems. Analysis efforts involve system performance assessments and design postulation of major subsystems including but not limited to phased array antennas, transmitters and receivers, radar signal processors and computer algorithms/logic.
Threat system model development to match intelligence assessments, including waveform scheduling, correlation/tracking and signal processing.
Write technical briefings, papers and reports to reflect intelligence analysis and assessments of foreign threat systems.
Ensure foreign threat systems are accurately characterized and modeled in technical databases such as the Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming Database (EWIRDB).
Required Experience:
Basic Qualifications
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited university and a minimum of five years of applicable experience. Candidate must have excellent math skills and/or possess and show good fundamentals in electromagnetics, signals and systems, digital signal processing, and controls. Candidate must be able to apply these skills to the following areas: modeling, radar/weapons systems analysis, algorithm development, RF hardware, HWIL support, and/or field-testing support. Candidate must be able to comfortably interact with and present to customers, coworkers and management on a regular basis.
Modeling includes modeling of radar functions, threats, timeline, weapon system, clutter, EA/EP, etc. Radar/weapons systems analysis includes probability of detection, waveform analysis, probability of intercept, defended area, etc. Algorithm development includes detection processes, waveform selection, signal processing, clutter and EA mitigation, adaptive beamforming, target identification, etc. RF hardware includes transmitters, exciters, antennas, multi-channel receivers, high-bandwidth receivers, SOTA processors, and RF lab equipment development and integration, and software development and test. Field test support includes travel, radar equipment setup and teardown, and light lifting (up to 30 or 40 lbs.).
Other Qualifications
Experience with MATLAB and Python is a plus. Candidate must have good people skills and the desire to work with a highly technical team of engineers and scientists.
Security Qualifications
Candidate must be a US-only Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top Secret Clearance.
