i3 is seeking candidates to lead systems engineering and modeling activities for Department of Defense customers. This position is located in Huntsville, AL with hybrid options available.
The successful candidate will be an expert in MBSE tools and techniques to support enterprise architecture development, requirements development and decomposition, system design and design verification, interface development, and verification/validation activities. Tasks will include leading a team of engineers to develop and maintain in-house and external models in a collaborative environment to support DoD acquisition and test and evaluation activities. The candidate will also support missions engineering to develop integration plans, test plans and procedures, data analysis plans, and execution of models in simulation to conduct scenario-based analysis for the customer. Intimate knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML 1.x) and the Unified Architecture Framework (UAF 1.1 and 1.2) is a requisite for the successful candidate.
The successful candidate must work well in a team and collaborative environment and must demonstrate strong written, communication, and presentation skills, attention to detail, and an eye for innovative ideas. The candidate is also expected to perform modeling tasks as required by the customer, including data modeling, verification and validation, and process definition.
Responsibilities
Participates in and leads the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software and hardware system integration testing and performs analysis of integration results to assess system impacts.
Utilizes MBSE tools (e.g., Dassault Systmes MagicDraw and Teamwork Cloud) to lead the development of requirements, system design and integration, system use cases, and enterprise capabilities, phases, and mission threads.
Develops and maintains models using modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAFML).
Leads the development of enterprise models including strategic and operational viewpoints with traceability to system architectures.
Leads the development of system and system of systems models and creates representations using data architectures and data models to facilitate interoperability.
Lead interoperability studies in the context of inter- and intra-service data architectures.
Utilizes strong written, communication, and presentation skills, and works effectively in a team environment.
Reviews system engineering documentation and model artifacts to ensure accuracy.
Leads the development of trade studies to support the selection preferred design solutions and course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery. Additionally, leads trade studies to support the selection of optimal capability configurations for mission scenarios.
Analyzes and evaluates systems using MBSE artifacts and custom plugins.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors degree and 10+ years of systems engineering and integration experience (MS may substitute for some years of experience).
5+ years if experience with various MBSE tools - Dassault Systmes Magic Draw, IBM Rhapsody.
Knowledge of system architecture development and the systems engineering process.
Demonstrated experience in modeling with SysML and the Unified Architecture Framework.
Demonstrated, significant experience in multiple SE processes including but not limited to, requirement development/management, verification planning/tracking/compliance documentation, risk management, milestone review planning/execution, enterprise architecture development.
Demonstrated individual contribution to, and leadership of, the execution of multiple systems engineering processes.
Demonstrated experience in tool development, SE process improvement, or relational data capture/linkage.
Demonstrated experience supporting development of SEandI task planning and team leadership to support integration of complex, multi-discipline engineering design/build programs.
Active US Secret Clearance.
Desired:
Demonstrated excellence in Air and Missile Defense and Aviation programs, including command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR).
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Velocity.
Experience with SysML v2.0
Experience supporting DoD programs is preferred.
Experience in executing SE processes in joint engineering efforts across organizations.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
OMG Certified System Modeling Professional - Model Builder or higher.
