Who We Are: CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 73,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.
CAMBA's Workforce Development and Refugee Services programs annually provide thousands of low income community members with culturally competent case management, employment, education, vocational training, benefits access, health, financial literacy and English language services, in house and by referral. CAMBA specializes in assisting those with special barriers to employment including low skilled workers, long-term unemployed, immigrants and refugees, limited English speakers, formerly homeless, seniors, formerly incarcerated, trauma survivors and victims of human trafficking. These programs are performance-based, and success is measured by meeting enrollment, employment placement, training, retention and case management goals.
Position: Bilingual Resettlement Coordinator
Reports To: Supervisor I

What The Bilingual Resettlement Coordinator Does:
Understand all aspects multiple ever-evolving contracts and the requirements and services definitions for each.
Conduct initial intake and assessment of clients and/or clients' families' situations and needs, including skill levels, prior work experience, employability, interests, aptitudes, support service needs, family and medical history, and individual development needs.
Refer and enroll clients to the program/programs according to the outcome of the intake process.
Advise clients regarding realistic career/employment goals and the education/training necessary to attain them. Work with clients to develop realistic educational/employment goals leading to self-sufficiency.
In collaboration with clients, prepare individual self-sufficiency employment plan for each client, identifying employment goal, interim achievement objectives, and services
Prepare and maintain accurate and complete narrative documentation of client progress, at each point of contact, including program participation, referrals to services, interviews and employer feedback, and placement and retention.
Develop strategies with clients regarding how to break through barriers to their short and long-term goals, overcoming resistance to change, and how to advocate for themselves.
Work collaboratively with a team of instructors and job developers with the common goal of successfully advancing participants to employment
Input client data and client progress/service information into databases.
Create and maintain client files with detailed records of services provided/financial records, as directed and required by CAMBA, the Department of State, and funders.
Collect and submit all documentation regarding client and contract outcomes.
Plan and facilitate orientations and assessments during the program(s).
Recommend and implement strategies to persuade clients to fully participate in their own education and/or employment placement and retention process.
Develop new materials and methods of outreach in response to changing program and client needs.
Act as client liaison/client advocate, both within CAMBA and/or with outside organizations, immigration attorneys and other referral sources regarding matters including education, healthcare, housing, legal issues, new enrollments, client assessments, etc.
Facilitate group workshops/peer support groups regarding all relevant topics.
Monitor client progress in the classroom and address negative behavior patterns (e.g. lateness).
Participate in marketing, outreach, or assessment activities.
Assist clients in completing applications for government programs and in processing these applications with appropriate agencies.
Provide all required information for weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual reports.
Maintain professional relationships with clients and uphold client confidentiality.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree (B.A., B.S.W.) and one (1) year of experience in client services required.
Other Requirements:
Relevant education and years of experience described above.
Familiarity with NYC public benefits eligibility and access.
Client focused, culturally competent, empathetic, and flexible to the needs of clients and job seekers.
Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced, high volume, and deadline driven environment.
Organized and detail oriented with strong documentation skills and a commitment to upholding confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability and dedication to work with refugees, asylees, immigrants, young adults, and low income populations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
Bilingual required in Creole, Ukrainian, Farsi/Dari, Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic, or Mandarin (prioritized according to current program needs).
Compensation: $55,000 annually
When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
