Opportunity:
Virtual Service Operations is searching for a Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team in Merritt Island, FL. The Senior Cybersecurity Specialist will be responsible for managing Authorization Packages (AP) to ensure systems obtain or maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO). This includes performing Privacy Analysis, System Categorizations, Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), and overseeing the System Security Plan (SSP) and general Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes. The role serves as the focal point for enterprise SSPs, supporting Information System Owners (ISO) and Security Officials (ISSO) with RMF responsibilities. Additionally, the specialist will develop and maintain Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms), collaborate with administrators and engineering teams to integrate security measures into systems, and stay updated on emerging security technologies and threats to enhance the organization's cybersecurity posture.
Qualifications:
Experience with networking ports and protocols, architecture of networked and standalone systems, functionality of various operating systems, cloud computing environments and common security tools.
Ability to develop information system topology diagrams and Concept of Operations documentation
Knowledge with federal standards such as NIST, FISMA and FIPS
Exposure to FedRAMP program and standards
Experience with Security Control Audits
Proficient with MS Office
Active (or held within 3 years) Security Clearance
Experience with IT projects in a traditional waterfall or Agile framework
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, CySA+) are a plus
Requirements
Must be within driving distance of Merritt Island, FL and willing to work onsite 3 days a week
Must hold an active Public Trust Clearance or above
