Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation's defense against ballistic missile attacks.
The GMD Weapon System processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
The Work
As a DevOps Engineer, you will have phenomenal learning opportunities, exposure to a wide variety of projects and customers, all within a collaborative, fast paced workplace. We are looking for self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented people to help us grow our capability and become even better at what we do to develop the next generation of strategic deterrent capabilities for the nation.
As a DevSecOps engineer, you will drive unification and automation of processes to enable development of software capability across the entire GWS system. You will be instrumental in combining code, application maintenance, and application management. All these tasks rely on understanding not only development life cycles, but DevSecOps culture, and its philosophy, practices, and tools. You bring a curiosity and understanding of the development lifecycle goals and the transactions occurring within pipelines, scanning tools, deployments, and all steps of the development lifecycle. You will actively interface with DevSecOps and engineering teams to coordinate and optimize the steps that execute within the DevSecOps ecosystem and bring consistency and best practices in approach, tools, and standards. You will also create and maintain fully automated Continuous Integration (CI) build processes, which include writing builds and deployment scripts. Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 0 years of related experience
Active U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level
Exposure to DevSecOps practices
Recent Experience working with cloud technologies and platforms, i.e. Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
Recent Experience with Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services
DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security+ CE) OR ability to obtain Security+ CE within 60 days of accepted offer.
Effective Communication skills both internally and externally
Ability to write or review software code (Java, Python, etc.)
Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time
Desired Skills:
Deploying and maintaining applications on Kubernetes clusters
Experience with PaaS (Platform as a Service) infrastructure
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, and Nexus repositories
Experience with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, others.
Experience with branching strategies, gated commits and source-controlled management
Programming and scripting experience in a UNIX environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts).
Programming and scripting experience in a Windows environment (PowerShell, etc.)
Experience with IaaS (Infrastructure as Code) scripts in Terraform and Helm to provision cloud resources
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
