Description
What you'll be doing:
Learn the tools used in the PPT SOC, including SIEM, EDR/XDR and case management tools.
Learn and contribute to the threat intelligence and analysis process .
Review SIEM and EDR events to identify and respond to threats .
Review logs and events to investigate anomal ous activity .
Develop and execute security awareness training.
Educates employees about the proper way to handle possible compromised systems.
Stays abreast of developments in Information Security, as well as those in Information Technology industry specifically as they relate to security.
Analyze security incidents to determine root cause.
Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
Define and create a security capstone project to encapsulate what was learned through the internship .
Other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
Interest in cyber security and information technology.
General computer literacy.
Introductory knowledge of security concepts: AV, Firewall, etc.
Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
Good communication skills (Verbal and Written).
Ability to effectively work and interact with customers and team members.
Bonus Points:
Experience in information technology, software development or security a plus .
Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems a plus
Experience with coding or scripting languages a plus
Education:
Relevant educational experience or degree a plus
Relevant security related certifications a plus: CISSP, GCIA, GSEC, GCIH, GCED, GCFA, GREM.
Travel:
Less than 5%.
