You'll work at the forefront of cybersecurity and gain exposure to the many facets of a career with us. Most importantly, you'll play a vital role in helping AT&T to maintain the security of millions of customers around the world.
As a summer intern in our Cybersecurity Internship Program, you'll spend 10-12 weeks in cybersecurity-related project work in our collaborative, team-oriented environment, and expand your technical skills. As you grow your skillset, you'll learn what it takes to succeed in a cybersecurity career with us. As a software engineer, you'd work in teams to build out next-generation security technology solutions for projects such as 5G, Mobility, Open-Source Initiatives, Network security, Microservices, Automation, Cloud solutions, Threat Analytics, Data Protection, AI/Machine Learning, Quantum technology, and UI/UX design. For example, you may interpret a software feature from an end user's perspective, determine the best designed solution, and then code and test your solution. You'd also demo the user story solution for the software product owner, gather their feedback and make any needed adjustments. Participation in daily meetings to communicate progress and impediments as part of a team could also be expected. If you're passionate about coding, we're the place to be! Some languages and tools we leverage for software development include Java, SQL, Python, Linux, Azure/AWS, HTML, Angular, XML, C/C++, JSON, JavaScript, database technologies, and visualization tools.
Cybersecurity Data Analyst
As a data analyst, you may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation and other tools to breakdown business problems, analyze data, and guide improvements. Your efforts would help influence customer satisfaction and potentially generate millions in savings and revenue through enhancements such as fleet optimization, energy efficiency, and data/threat analytics. With ongoing skill development and collaboration with some of the brightest minds in the field, you'd be poised to make your mark. With your know-how and access to one of the largest data sets available, you'll make an impact and develop meaningful data-driven insights to inspire continuous innovation. Some languages and tools we leverage for data assessment, extraction, analytics, and monitoring include Python/R programming, Jupyter notebooks, APIs, Spark, Azure/AWS, PowerBI, and Splunk.
Whether you are a fit for a software engineer or data analyst role, the cybersecurity internship offers you the opportunity to potentially gain knowledge, explore technology, and build skills. Some general skills we will leverage for both roles: strong communication, analytical thinking, decision-making skills and taking initiative.
