Rotary and Mission Systems' Training and Logistics Solutions (TLS) business is Lockheed Martin's center of excellence for training and logistics products and services, serving the U.S. military and more than 65 international customers around the world. Based in Orlando, TLS develops programs that teach service men and women skills to accomplish their most challenging missions - flying the world's most advanced fighter aircraft, navigating ships and driving armored vehicles.
TLS is the corporation's hub for simulation, X reality, live-virtual-constructive capabilities, advanced training devices and full-service training programs. TLS also provides sustainment services such as supply chain and logistics IT solutions, spares and repairs, as well as automated test and support equipment.
THE WORK:
As a Lead Geospatial Engineer you will:
Design, analyze and develop geo-spatial solutions in support of simulation and training devices. Datatypes to include raster, vector, model products including feature data, elevation data, imagery, and 3D models. Plans, designs, develops, documents and analyzes data workflows to synthesize work products in support of target platforms. Applies software to manage spatial and related tabular data.
A Geospatial Engineer contributes to the design, development, and production of terrain databases for flight simulation. This includes analysis and definition of training requirements; visual database tools design/development; use of COTS tools for visual database development. Specific efforts will include requirements analysis, development of design approaches, potential interfacing with program/technical management and customers.
This position is for a Lead Geospatial Engineer who will oversee design/development/integration/testing of a mission area database. They will apply technically advanced, innovative, and cost-effective solutions to create immersive environments for modern military aviation training. Specific efforts will include requirements creation, development of design, labor estimating, schedule generation, earned value management, problem solving and potential interfacing with program/technical management and customers.

This position will require the selected candidate to have or obtain an Interim Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin, as well as obtain a Special Access Program U.S. government security clearance within a reasonable time after starting the position. A level 4 employee is typically mid-career and has 7 to 9+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline
Experience working with correlated 3D visual databases
Experience with Geospatial databases and toolsets
Experience with Sub-system (Sensors) database experience working with correlated databases
Proven ability in supervising and assisting geospatial and/or modeling development activities
Must be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain a secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
Direct experience in one or more of the following areas: Image Generation system, hardware or software simulation design; visual/multispectral/terrain database design and/or generation, or simulator display design.
Experience with one or more available database and other production toolsets such as; ESRI ArcGIS, ESRI CityEngine, Presagis Creator, Blue Marble Global Mapper, TerraSim TerraTools, Adobe Photoshop
Experience with GIS, GEOINT, geography, cartography, photogrammetry, geospatial and 3D database concepts, elevation data and imagery
Experience in terrain modeling for thermal and/or radar sensors
Experience with designing, developing, and following workflows to generate 2D and 3D terrain database products leveraging COTS products and industry-standard data formats.
Experience with languages such as Python and Unix scripting (e.g. bash/shell) is a bonus
Familiarity with Agile scrum methodology, JIRA and Confluence
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
