This Position is for a Geospatial Analyst with a company at Stennis
Space Center, MS.
Summary: The Geospatial Analyst will advance the capabilities of the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) by providing data analysis and spatial modeling. The Geospatial Analyst will be responsible for generating intelligence products in the form of maps, datasets, reports, and presentation material. In general, the Geospatial Analyst works directly with the government to process and integrate multiple geographic datasets that answer intelligence questions. NAVOCEANO is located at NASA's Stennis Space Center and the work would be performed in NAVOCEANO's facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze imagery and produce geospatial analysis. Perform regional environmental summaries. Digitize and annotate features into geospatial database. Perform research and compile geospatial products. Complete quality control and peer review checks.
Education and Experience: Active TS/SCI clearance. Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geospatial Information Systems, Physical Science, or relevant technical field; comparable years of experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.
Desired: Experience with any: GIS concepts, Geoprocessing, Physical Oceanography concepts, Imagery analysis, Intelligence Products, Vector Collection, Geospatial databases. Self-motivated yet able to work well within a development team. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong additional consideration for experience with: Modeling Riverine or Littoral Areas, NMIS metadata standards, NEC/NSG Feature Catalogs, Python Scripting.
