ABOUT THE ROLE
The Geospatial Operations Manager will lead the production and incorporation of GIS data into CoStar's market leading real estate research products. This individual will manage a team of analysts who create and maintain CoStar's spatial data, ensuring accurate capture and timely distribution of that data. They will work closely with product stakeholders to develop project specifications and develop GIS solutions that meet customer needs. RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides day-to-day leadership and project management for operational GIS workflows.
Supports the hiring, coaching, and development of team members; provides performance feedback.
Interacts with stakeholders to understand user requirements and the project team to determine scope, schedules, and deliverables.
Maintains a solid understanding and demonstrated expertise in current GIS technologies, system and process development methods.
Manages scope, schedule, and budget of multiple projects.
Responsible for all internal and external project status reporting.
Develop, implement and lead GIS operational projects through the full cycle from proposal to delivery.
Setup new projects and develop project work plans and determine resource requirements.
Coordinates workflows and organizes the teams and tasks to ensure projects remain on task.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Geographical Sciences, Computer Science, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, Geomatics, Civil Engineering or other related field.
8+ years of GIS experience, with domain expertise in real estate or related fields.
3+ years of experience managing a team of GIS professionals in a production environment.
Must have technical project management experience; proficiency using Atlassian products (JIRA/Confluence.)
Experience with ArcGIS and Esri (Online, Pro, and Enterprise).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience developing spatial data ETL scripts and tools using Python, or other scripting languages.
Experience creating GIS data layers and working with enterprise geodatabases.
Experience in implementing GIS technologies in a cloud environment.
Experience using MapInfo, Alteryx, and open source GIS tools.
Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
Communicates effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
Experience preparing and delivering reports, recommendations, or alternatives.
