Summary
Join our Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) to help make shipboard life and habitability safe for our sailors! For over a century, HII has built and maintained the U.S. Navy's most powerful warships. Join us as we continue to maintain the Navy's readiness. Acting as the Production Planning Scheduler 1 Manager, this position is responsible for planning, preparing and maintenance scheduling for day-to-day work onboard U.S Navy Aircraft Carrier's HM&E engineering systems. This is a full time position located in Norfolk, VA.
*Must have a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Badge or Common Access Card (CAC) to start.
What You Will Do
Plan, prepare, and maintenance scheduling for day-to-day work onboard U.S Navy Aircraft Carrier's HM&E engineering systems.
Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
Controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
What You Must Have
4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
Strong communication skills and experience with planning and network scheduling techniques.
Must have knowledge of MS Office and other software with experience with Naval shipbuilding and maintenance processes and procedures.
Must have experience with Navy's Maintenance, Material, Management (3M) supply systems.
Working familiarity and general knowledge of quality assurance program practices and principles.
Prior experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Confidential security clearance.
Preferred: Bonus Points For
A current, valid DoD Confidential security clearance or higher.
Previous experience as a Work Center Supervisor in the US Navy is preferred.
Previous experience working with US Navy Aircraft Carrier HM&E engineering systems is preferred.
Physical Requirements
May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
