Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Responsibilities Serve as a Security Command Data Scientist performing scientific work in mathematics, statistical analysis, and project planning. Counsel the integrating of data science-based methods and tools into cybersecurity analyses and operational planning processes. Addresses issues and obtains innovative solutions to problems encountered in the analysis of DoD program operations and decision alternatives. Develops mathematical, and/or statistical models for evaluation, identification, collection, and analysis of all data used to support assigned projects or program(s). Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience providing Big Data analysis and developing mathematical and statistical models of data analysis such as: collection, identification; and/or evaluation to support assigned programs.
