Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and client-oriented Data Scientist to join our team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will assist in the design, development, and implementation of advanced data science capabilities to achieve client mission goals. You will collaborate with a team of consultants, engineers and data scientists to leverage AI, data science and machine learning to deliver solutions to client business problems. The ideal candidate will have solid data science skills, a firm understanding of machine learning frameworks, and client-oriented approach to applying technology to complex problems.
This is a Hybrid position.
Responsibilities:
Perform experiments to evaluate emerging data science and related technologies, such as generative AI, quantum, and explainable AI techniques.
Develop models and solutions for problems sets in a broad range of data science application areas, including but not limited to natural language processing, graph analytics, computer vision, anomaly detection, data visualization, and metrics creation.
Contribute to applied research on solution accelerators, prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and methods for use in client engagements.
Collaborate with senior engineers and data scientists to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights
Perform knowledge elicitation from client of business problem details and incorporate that knowledge into algorithms, models, and approaches in client solutions.
Participate in solution development through whiteboarding sessions with clients, partners, and coworkers.
Communicate findings to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders and engage clients by effectively conveying complex technical concepts.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field
Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn) and with Python or R programming languages
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including client-facing discussions and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, data science, or a related field.
Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, IBM Cloud).
Prior internship or project experience in AI, machine learning, or data science.
Expertise in one or more data science specialties, such as natural language processing, computer vision, or deep learning.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including communicating information to a senior executive audience.

Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance
