JOB SUMMARY
Works with ERCOT business partners to identify trends, patterns and events from various enterprise information assets. The analyst will gather data archival and information life cycle requirements as well as develop and implement enterprise data management processes. This role will work closely with both business partners and various development teams to carry solutions from conception to production and be responsible for the collection and delivery of both functional and non-functional aspects of the system, product, or process. This includes mapping requirements and processes across other integrated applications and databases. The analyst will be responsible for coordinating and assisting with the identification and development of the necessary testing requirements for all department owned and supported products and platforms. The analyst may also help stakeholders understand the data that is available, generate reports, integrate enterprise information into their current processes and provide historical market reports. These solutions may include new data structures, semantic layers, reports/dashboards, or complex analytic processes. The Business Intelligence Analyst may also work closely with teams of business subject matter experts, developers, testing/release management resources, and production support staff. They will need to be knowledgeable about logical and physical data structures as well as the various ways that data can be leveraged to support/drive business decisions.
JOB DUTIES
Level 1
Proficiency with SQL in an Oracle environment
Data management and/or data governance experience or education
Experience with one or more Enterprise Business Intelligence tools
Mastery of MS Office suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
General understanding of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Decision Support Systems, and Analytic concepts
Level 2 - All of the above - Demonstrated understanding of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Decision Support Systems, and Analytic concepts with examples of delivery
Demonstrated ability to act as a liaison between business customers and a skilled development team
EXPERIENCE
SAS Enterprise Guide/Matlab/Alteryx or similar analytic platforms (preferred)
Collibra/Alation/Databricks Unity Catalog/MS Purview or similar data governance tools (preferred)
Delta Lake/Snowflake/SQL Server/PostgreSQL or other database technologies (preferred)
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree : Computer Science, MIS, Business Intelligence/Analytics, Information Science or related field (Required)
Master's Degree : Computer Science, MIS, Business Intelligence/Analytics, Information Science or related field (Preferred)
or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
