In this dynamic role, you will dive deep into the world of data, leveraging internal and external sources to uncover invaluable insights about our competitors' pricing, promotions, and product assortments. Your analytical expertise will be instrumental in guiding our Merchandising Category Managers and Executive Leaders in the Center Store business, ensuring they have the critical information they need to make informed decisions.Collaborating closely with our Pricing and Analytics teams, you'll become a trusted advisor, providing strategic recommendations that give us a competitive edge in the market. In this role you will be at the forefront of driving business growth, navigating ambiguity, and tackling complex challenges head-on.
This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week.
Responsibilities:
Orchestrate the collection and analysis of retail pricing, assortment, and promotion data, partnering with Merchandising leaders to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Unleash your analytical prowess by applying modeling techniques to measure and validate data integrity, informing process improvements and ensuring data quality.
Engage with internal stakeholders, understanding their business challenges, and crafting scalable processes and reporting solutions that foster trust and understanding.
Transform complex data into compelling narratives and actionable insights, presenting your findings to non-technical audiences with clarity and persuasion.
Develop scheduled performance reports, identifying areas for improvement and proposing impactful recommendations to drive continuous optimization.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Analytical Business Specialty, Economics, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or equivalent retail analytics experience is preferred.
Minimum 2+ years of experience in business analysis, business intelligence, or comparable research roles, with proficiency in BI tools.
Mastery of a wide range of analytical and quantitative techniques, coupled with advanced Excel skills and 1+ years of SQL and relational database experience.
Familiarity with audience-tailored data visualizations using BI tools like Tableau or ggplot is highly desirable.
A strong drive to develop expertise in industry trends and leveraging data and analytics to recommend better competitive positioning strategies.
A collaborative spirit and attention to detail, valuing teamwork while maintaining a high level of accuracy in your work.
Location & Travel:
This position is based in Austin, TX.(Relocation is NOT offered for this position.)
Up to 10% time may be spent traveling to software partner, store support offices outside of Austin and/or store locations.
