Job Description:
Systems Technician II
Provide IT Asset Management services in accordance with AFMAN 17-1203, or latest manual. This includes, but is not limited to IT Equipment Control, end user equipment configurations utilizing Air Force Standard Desktop Configurations (SDC), and distribution of IT assets to the appropriate IT Property Custodians (PCs).
Responsible for the initial configuration (Image and add to domain) of all assets, then issuing them out to the branch property custodians. With a targeted 25% refresh rate, this is over 1,500 assets per year configured and issued out.
Create and maintain 17 SDC and non SDC images. Download and compile the up-to-date baseline ISO deployment from the Air Force Center for Electronic Distribution of Systems (AFCEDS), install it on every model of computer. For NIPR, install all applicable drivers, add to the domain to pull network updates for several days, make any required software configuration changes, remove from the domain, set local admin password, turn off BitLocker and decrypt the drive, then track the SSD as a master image.
Complete Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) training (roughly 10 hours of training), be appointed to the Equipment Control Officer (ECO) letter and submit DPAS access request to the Department of the Air Force Equipment Control Office (DAFECO).
Will be appointed as the alternate property custodian on the 3 holding accounts (currently over 1600 assets), as well as process all DPAS additions, changes, transfers and DRMO requests for all accounts.
Create and administer IT Equipment Custodian (ITEC) and Unit Accountable Property Officer (UAPO) training for 70 subordinate account holders (ITECs), 19 UAPOs, for 44 DPAS accounts. Process issuance, transfers, and turn-ins for all subordinate account holders. Assist in creating/updating training and administer training when the Government AIM rep is not available.
Prep and sit in on weekly meetings when the Government AIM rep is not available. Must provide answers on the status of requirements, tickets and technical refresh projects that are ongoing, as well as the status of current inventory levels.
Manage purchase, shipment, delivery, storage, and issuance as part of asset life cycle. Includes maintenance of asset cage (assets and non-sensitive peripherals). Provide input on the hardware solutions selected. Will also receive assets upon delivery, inventory them, add them into DPAS, and manage the warehouse space storing them until they can be configured and issued.
Process policy and user agreements. Provides the form to the end user, signs it as the issuer when submitted, tracks the S/Ns of trackable peripherals issued, and stores the forms on the ERM drive.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $24.52 - $33.18. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
