Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is looking to hire a Metrologist to support our Lufkin, TX site!

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing calibration of product build, testing equipment as well as evaluation and test, repair and adjustment of various equipment using diagnostic and measuring tools.
What You Will Be Doing
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
-Designing various measurement systems that measure properties such as speed, energy, force, length, volume and area
-Implementing and interpreting internationally accepted units of measurement as they relate to the metrologist's industry
-Performing scientific research to analyze and test various measurement and measuring methods
-Developing calibration procedures to boost instrument performance testing
-Studying the relationships between quantities, forms, and magnitudes
-Assembling and operating measuring equipment
-Writing calibration reports based on an instrument's measurements and results
-Assist in selection of the appropriate equipment for use in production that will ensure proper tolerances and accuracy requirements are met

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
*Degree focused in Engineering, Statistics or Math and/or completed internship as a metrologist
*Proven ability to partner with internal customers on difficult requests
*Previous experience in a calibrations lab
*Good oral and written communication skills
*Ability to logically solve complex problems and provide written reports detailing activities surrounding solution.
*Proficient in computer software programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
*Ability to work overtime as needed to complete critical tasks
Desired Skills:
*Coordinate Metrology Society's (CMS) Level-One and Level-Two Certifications
*ASQ's ISO/IEC 17025 Compliance certification.
*Familiarity with the requirements of ANSI/ESD S20.20 Standard & Related Documents including ESD workstation requirements.
*Familiarity with IndySoft software

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
