Cimarron is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to support the Sentinel program at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital nuclear modernization program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). Key Duties:
Interpret requirements, apply scientific/environmental engineering principles, and develop scopes of work to ensure environmental compliance.
Provide technical assistance to project personnel and functions.
Conduct environmental compliance inspections of construction activities to ensure adherence to permits, mitigation plans, and contractual commitments.
Coordinate with ESandH personnel, engineering, and construction management to address environmental requirements and mitigation measures.
Collaborate with subcontract administrators, technical representatives, and construction personnel to integrate environmental considerations.
Provide technical support for site studies, risk assessments, and environmental management system (EMS) development.
Review scopes, schedules, and budgets for environmental compliance and integration.
Participate in meetings to advise on environmental impacts affecting design, schedule, and cost.
Assist with creating EMS plans, environmental training programs, and technical reports.
Maintain relationships with customers, clients, and project site personnel while providing drawings and data sheets as needed.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
5+ years of experience in environmental sciences, engineering, or construction systems.
Knowledge of national, state (California), and local environmental laws/regulations, permitting processes, and compliance.
Experience in environmental monitoring, compliance inspection, and technical oversight during construction.
Familiarity with hazardous materials, waste management, erosion control, and restoration techniques.
Experience with construction planning, estimating, procedures, and fieldwork (e.g., construction or operating facilities).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficient in document management and revision control.
Physically able to walk considerable distances on uneven ground and conduct work on your feet for most of the shift.
Physically able to climb 30+ feet ladders, work at heights, and work in confined spaces.
Physically able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds weight.
Capable of wearing personnel protective gear including fall arrest harness, respirator, Tyvek protective clothing, or other gear as required.
Prior construction experience in the state of California.
Basic computer skills with proficiency in Office 365 applications.
Bachelors degree in Life Sciences (e.g., Biology, Ecology, Forestry), Physical Sciences (e.g., Geology, Meteorology), Construction Management, or Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
Active Security Clearance.
Prior construction experience on Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB).
OSHA 40 HAZWOPER and 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training.
CA Qualified SWPPP Practitioners (QSP).
CA QSP (delegate).
