DevOps Engineer

OTA is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have professional-level knowledge and certifications in system administration, cloud operations, and development practices. This role requires hands-on experience in managing and automating infrastructure, integrating cloud environments, and supporting training labs and environments. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for maintaining high availability, optimizing performance, and automating deployments to enhance operational efficiency.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities
Design, configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain cloud environments.
Manage platforms such as VMware Suite (ESXi, Workstation, vCenter, vSphere, vMotion, Horizon, vSAN, NSX), Virtual Machines (VMs) and Containers (e.g., Docker)
Provide recommendations for network design improvements to enhance system availability and performance
Design, configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain storage solutions in line with organizational needs
Integrate hands-on labs and training environments built by instructors and developers into existing environments
Support instructors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) by configuring flexible, scalable hands-on labs
Ensure labs are adaptable to various training courses and environments
Deploy existing environments and ranges to support operational and training needs
Automate infrastructure builds and deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including: Terraform and VMware vRealize Automation (VRA)
Automate configuration management processes using tools such as Ansible and GitLab
Automate operational functions using scripting and programming languages including PowerShell, Bash, Python, and JavaScript
Design, configure, install, troubleshoot, and maintain databases to support operational environment
Employ change management and versioning best practices using tools like Agile/Sprints, Kanban, JIRA, and GitLab
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for installations and changes
Develop technical diagrams, including but not limited to Layer 1, 2, and 3 network diagrams, Boundary, Core, Distribution, and Access diagrams
Rack elevations and Ports and Protocols lists
Required Qualifications
Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor's Degree or approved equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge of system administration and DevOps methodologies
Certifications or experience with CompTIA Security+, VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV), Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Certifications in IAT Level II, IASAE I, Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification, VMware Certified Professional
