We have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaning Mech/Tech II to join the team!
The Cleaning Mech/Tech II will:
Disassemble, clean, and reassemble components and assemblies for the purpose of cleaning contamination to a specified cleaning standard, requirement, or per instruction.
Work may be performed under direct supervision or in coordination with another technician for complex tasks or may be performed independently for common work.
Maintain and operate under cleanroom standards.
Log data for work performed and provide reports or data to customers.
Bag and tag items to maintain cleanliness and tracking of flight and non-flight purposes.
Trainless experienced technicians and verify work as required.
Prioritize tasks with a supervisor or lead technician.
Maintain cleaning equipment, order consumables, and assist with lab inventory.
Receive and ship customer items; interface with quality inspectors as required.
Perform related duties as required.
Requisition Qualifications:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to hold necessary security clearances.
Familiarity with cleaning processes and standards.
High School diploma or equivalent.
4 years of prior cleanroom experience or in a related area
Knowledge of the following cleaning methods: abrasive, chemical (solvent-based), ultrasonic.
Cleanroom protocols and knowledge of maintenance procedures (sticky pads, filter change out, etc.).
Requisition Preferences:
Handling of NASA flight hardware.
Maintaining simple inventories.
Ability to complete purchase requests for materials/consumables.
Knowledge of NASA and JSC cleaning specifications, cleaning processes, and quality control procedures.

Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
