About the role:
Do you enjoy working in a digital environment and seeing you models, simulations and algorithms realized as innovative solutions to complex and challenging national security problems? FAST Labs is seeking a Systems Engineer to join an existing team to do just that. As a member of this team, you will collaborate with scientists and fellow engineers on a family of EOIR R&D program with a Modeling and Simulation focus. You will develop and update existing high fidelity performance model/simulations of novel EOIR systems, components and their associated physical/radiometric/atmospherics phenomenology.
The ideal candidate will have:
Demonstrated success working in EOIR Modeling and Simulation teams
Algorithms development experience
Strong knowledge base in physics
Proficiency with MATLAB
Digital Signal Processing experience
Experience with embedded programming languages
Ability to clearly communicate ideas, concerns, and solutions to the team, industry partners, and FAST Labs management.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typically requires a Bachelor s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
Strong physics background
Previous success in developing end-to-end EO/IR performance models including, but not limited to object and atmospheric radiometry, optical system image quality, detector and electronics performance, image processing, and platform performance
Fluency with MATLAB for model/simulation development and object orientated programming techniques
Experience Validating models against laboratory and real world data
Active and transferrable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or related discipline.
Algorithm development experience in any programming language
Experience with design of digital signal processing algorithms
Knowledge of embedded programming languages is a plus
Active and transferrable U.S. government issued TOP SECRET security
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
