Job Description:
The Specialist, Systems Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation. The Specialist SE is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms.
Essential Functions:
Understand physical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains
Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements
Design and develop physical and logical architectures incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains
Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements
Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs
Write system level requirements
Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements
Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements
Review and evaluate diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements
Job Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. A degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret (SCI) security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware
Configuration and integration of radio sets, satellite communications systems, or cryptographic equipment
Preferred Additional Skills:
Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support
Experience in electrical design creating electrical wiring diagrams, circuit breaker panels, and analyzing power loads
Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose
Excellent written, oral communications skills
Willingness to travel
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Teamcenter, etc.
